Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 27, 2026

The short version: NameTime keeps the people and notes you enter on your device (and, with Premium iCloud sync, in your own private iCloud). We don't have a server, we don't collect your data, we don't track you, and we don't sell anything to anyone.

Who we are

NameTime ("the app") is developed and operated by US Advantage Solutions LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Cincinnati, Ohio. This policy explains how the app handles your information.

Information you enter

NameTime lets you save details about people you meet — names, photos, notes, tags, locations, dates, and connections between people. This is stored on your device using Apple's on-device database, and — if you subscribe and turn on iCloud sync — also in your own private iCloud account (see "iCloud sync & backup" below). In either case it is not transmitted to us and we have no ability to see it.

Photos and camera

If you choose to add a photo to a person, the app uses your camera or photo library. The photo is saved on your device with that person's record. Photos are never uploaded to us.

Location

Location is used only when you tap the pin button to save where you met or last saw someone. When you do, the app asks Apple's mapping service to turn those coordinates into a readable place name (for example, a neighborhood or venue). The coordinates and resulting place name are stored on your device. The app never tracks your location in the background.

Information sent to third-party services

Two optional features fetch public information from outside services. They only run when the relevant detail is present on a person and you view that person:

These requests are made directly from your device to those services, which receive standard technical information (such as your IP address) as part of any normal internet request, subject to their own privacy policies. We do not receive this information, and we don't send your saved people, notes, or photos to anyone.

iCloud sync & backup

NameTime Premium includes optional iCloud sync. When it's on, the people and details you save are stored in your own private iCloud account and kept in sync across your Apple devices. This uses Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) and your personal iCloud storage. The data stays within your Apple account — we do not have access to it, and it is never sent to our servers (we don't operate one). Apple's handling of iCloud data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. If you don't subscribe, or leave sync off, your data simply stays on your device.

What we do not do

Data retention and deletion

You are in control of your data. You can edit or delete any person at any time, and export a full backup from Settings → Export. Deleting the app removes its data from that device. If iCloud sync is on, deleting a person also removes it from your iCloud and your other synced devices; you can also manage or remove NameTime's iCloud data anytime in your device's iCloud settings.

Security

Your information is protected by your device's own security, including its passcode and Apple's data protection. We recommend keeping a passcode enabled and exporting periodic backups.

Children's privacy

NameTime is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll revise the effective date above and post the new version on this page.
